ABOUT ME
(She/Her Pronouns)
Hi Everyone!
I graduated from McGill University’s Physical Therapy Program & I have been practicing as a Registered Orthopaedic and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in Toronto, Canada ever since. My practice style is patient-centered, evidence-based, and is focussed on empowering my clients with education on how to get to their specific goals reached through movement, stretching, strengthening, breath work, stress-management techniques, diet, self-manual therapy and so much more! We will communicate your goals in our very first appointment. At the end of the treatment plan, my clients maintain their goals through having learned ‘tools in their toolkit’ and more importantly have the confidence to manage their symptoms/condition lifelong!
I am most passionate about helping all genders, all races, and all ages who are suffering in silence with pelvic health dysfunctions. My training in pelvic health, with the Toronto-based company, Pelvic Health Solutions, has diversified my scope of practice in treating & assessing adults with urinary/fecal incontinence, persistent low back and pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual pain & dysfunction, gastro-intestinal disorders, chronic constipation, pre- and postnatal care, tailbone pain, bladder and bowel dysfunctions, post-surgical and post-cancer care. I also enjoy returning clients back to sport from orthopedic injuries and helping clients with temporomandibular joint pain (jaw pain) and headaches.
Over the years of practicing as a pelvic health physiotherapist, I have learned that it’s so important to look at the ‘WHOLE’ person when treating and not just treating a condition. I believe that the title ‘pelvic floor’ physiotherapist is a complete misnomer! Our profession is so much more than just a ‘Kegel’- expert or pelvic floor muscle personal trainer! Although we have the training on how to properly assess and train your pelvic floor muscles… your pelvic health symptoms are more likely as a result of a complex interplay of multiple systems in your body that are NOT working optimally together as a team, rather than just simply a ‘weak’ or ‘tight’ pelvic floor. I take a methodical approach in treating the source of your systems first, so that the body systems can work like an efficient team again. This is why we spend extra time in the initial visit asking you detailed questions about your complete medical history, your goals, any trauma in your past sexual experiences, your perception of pain, your gut health, your bladder/bowel health, your diet, your old injuries/surgeries, your sexual health and so much more!
In my spare time, I enjoy long-distance running and playing ‘serious recreational’ badminton! I am an avid coffee drinker and love to listen to ‘how I built this’ podcasts with Guy Raz; I daydream about being interviewed by him one day! If you want to learn more about me prior to booking in or learn more about services and pricing, please visit www.pelvicpro.ca. If you are going to book in with me from my webpage, please indicate that you found me via The Healing Collective! Currently, my virtual physiotherapy services cater to anyone living in Ontario!
