I am a registered social worker with 8 years of experience providing therapy to children, youth, adults, and families in various mental health settings. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and have completed certificates in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. I am passionate about supporting children (10 years and up), their parents, and adults in managing difficult emotions and building coping skills. I currently work at the Hospital for Sick Children providing therapy to young people with anxiety and depression, as well as family therapy. My areas of expertise are in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, learning disabilities, school difficulties, sexual/gender identity and family and relationship difficulties.
My approach is highly collaborative and person centered, which in practice means that we will work together at a pace that you are comfortable with, to achieve your unique goals. I draw from various modalities, such as CBT, brief therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and emotion-focused therapy, and am informed by attachment and trauma perspectives. I strive to provide a warm and inviting space where you feel connected and understood. Through curiosity and empathy, I will encourage you to draw on your skills and strengths, explore relationship patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and feel a greater sense of satisfaction in many areas of your life.
Outside of work I am often doing yoga, exploring the city, and protecting my vegetable garden from squirrels.
Tuesdays all day, and some availability on Fridays. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. Please email me at email@example.com. I look forward to meeting you!
