(She/Her Pronouns)
I’m a Registered Social Worker with a background in Child Development and family support, social justice and community development. I strive to maintain a critical and self-reflective practice that is rooted in anti-oppressive principles. In my clinical work, I believe that you, the client are the expert in your own life. My hope is to work with you in building a safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship that centers your well-being and gives voice to your experiences.
I consider it the most important job to bear witness to other people’s unique experiences; their joy, their pain; their need for recognition, healing and understanding.
I am a mother of two strong-willed, energetic and sensitive kids. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a family.” I firmly believe this. We certainly aren’t meant to do it alone or in isolation. I know I appreciate all the help and resources I can get! Supporting parents through the challenges (and notable joys too!) of raising children is essential to my work.
I offer Individual, Family and Couples and child/youth therapy. I also offer parenting support. Together, we can build on your strengths, parenting capacity and resources in a non-judgmental space.
My practice is attachment based and trauma-informed. I understand that we store our trauma in the body- that our experiences affect mind, body and spirit; therefore, my therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that healing is multi-faceted and I work with you to determine which modalities will be most supportive.
I have a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, Narrative Therapy, Arts-Based and Drama Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Although everyone will have unique reasons for seeking out therapy, I think people share the common goal of finding an empathetic listener; someone who will offer a compassionate space for healing, growth and perspective. It is important to me that I am able to provide that for you in our work together.
My practice is LGBTQ2S+ Positive and welcomes diversity.
