I’ve always been interested in discovering people’s stories, and as a therapist I want to help others who are struggling to be able to see and tell their stories in a new light. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, or something else, I want my clients to know that isn’t all there is to their life–that there is another story they can tell about themselves them based on endless amounts of strength, resiliency, and courage.
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with an MEd in Counselling Psychology from OISE, and a background in psychology at McGill. I spent many years providing emotional support to seniors in an All-Chinese care home in Vancouver, worked with adolescents as a mentor, taught at a high school in Japan, and now I’m here in Toronto providing individual psychotherapy to individuals 16 and up. I welcome clients of all genders, sexual orientations, religions, cultures and other identities, and am passionate about helping those struggling with mental health, trauma, identity, relationship issues, or life transitions.
My approach to therapy is all about collaboration. I want to help you in a way that suits you and your needs. I work from a trauma-informed, client-centered and strength-based perspective, and our work together can either be insight focused (exploring emotions, processing life experiences) or solution focused (problem solving, developing strategies and life skills) depending on your needs.
