(She/Her Pronouns)
Welcome and thank you for connecting with me online at the Healing Collective. Finding the courage to reach out for help is the first step; finding a therapist that is a ‘good fit’ for you is the second. I invite you to contact me for a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes before making a commitment to begin our work together on your personal healing journey.
My experience:
I have over 20 years’ experience in direct social work practice and psychotherapy with adults, couples and families. I have worked in various settings, both in community-based agencies and at Canada’s largest addiction and mental health facility.
I work from a strength-based, anti-racist/anti-oppression, inclusive and trauma-informed lens. I have a deep understanding of how social location, family dynamics, individual experiences and host of other environmental and biological factors combine to bring about challenges in living. These skills, along with a warm presence and compassionate caring will provide an opportunity for you to explore troubling feelings and thoughts in a non-judgmental environment. I am interested in the stories people tell about themselves, which are often learned from culture, family of origin and other external sources. They often lead to false assumptions about oneself and may not be true. Together we can unpack them and create a more positive and resilient sense of self. I regularly take time to check in to get your feedback on how sessions are going to ensure you are getting what you need from therapy.
I use a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive (CBT) and Dialectical (DBT) therapies; Narrative Therapy; Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT); Motivational Interviewing; and Compassionate-focused Therapy to find the best fit for you based on your presenting issues.
I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Toronto. I am fully registered member of the Ontario Social Work and Social Services College (OSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Work (OASW).
What kind of support are you seeking? Some of the areas I specialize in:

- Needing a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space to talk about difficult/stressful thoughts and feelings

What should you expect from therapy sessions?
Talk therapy can provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to share difficult feelings and thoughts to help gain insight into the problems affecting you and to effect the necessary changes to reduce stress and develop new coping strategies.
