(She/Her Pronouns)

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) who has been counselling people through their mental health struggles for over 30 years.

I have spent my career as a Social Worker who values mental health differences – I like to say that I work with people, not pathologies. I am mindful of power imbalances in systems, and I use a trauma-informed, person-centred approach in my work to keep clients in the driver’s seat.  I work with adults, using a combination of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative, Solution-Focused, Internal Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Self-Compassion and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

As a retired Community Mental Health Counsellor, I bring a practical, supportive and therapeutic approach to my private practice.  Along with active listening, I apply skills that allow clients to loosen the areas where they can get stuck, enabling them to move in their intended direction.

My specialties include: helping people improve their relationship with anxiety, depression and loss; working with folks new or returning to therapy; and supporting adults diagnosed with mental health issues.  I also help adults work through major life transitions – such as navigating a new cancer/health diagnosis, entering or ending work life, managing a medical stress leave, and dealing with mid and later-life changes.

I am a Social Worker who is naturally focused on equity, inclusion and social justice.  I also have personal experience with anxiety, grief, bi-racial family life, empty-nesting, late-life learning, and family mental health struggles – all of which inevitably inform my practice.  Balance is a strategy that I use both in my psychotherapy work and in my personal life. In my downtime, you might find me trying to hike the Bruce Trail end-to-end, tucking my nose into a good book, or enjoying tea-time on the Danforth.

I offer appointments at the Healing Collective on Wednesdays, and virtually on Thursdays – both during the day. My rate is $130 for a 1 hour session, and I offer a sliding scale option for those who need it (as available).
