“Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.” – Tori Amos
I truly believe that for healing to happen we need to dig in ourselves and understand our pain.
From the time that you walk into my office, we will do a complete assessment, discuss your concerns/needs and plan goals accordingly. I let my clients lead the session because I believe that a client is the leader of their life and they are allowing me to walk with them on the journey of healing/self-discovery/recovery. I check-in with my clients from time to time to know if they are moving towards their goals with each session.
I work with clients experiencing difficulty with their moods (like feeling low/depressed/unmotivated), work/life stress, body/pain issues, relationship difficulties, child-parent relationship, peer pressure/relationship, attachment issues, childhood/unresolved difficulties, trauma/PTSD, mental, physical or sexual abuse.
I use an integrative approach depending upon the client’s concern and needs. I practice psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, EFT, IPT, and trauma-focused therapy. I offer my services in English, Urdu, and Hindi.
I earned my B.A. (Hons.) and M.A.(Hons.) in Psychology in India. Working with HIV positive clients and their families helped me understand that I wanted to pursue a career in counseling.
I graduated from OISE- the University of Toronto, Canada with an M. Ed in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also volunteer as a Community Therapist at Woodgreen Community Services – Walk-in Clinic.
I am open to free 20 mins. consultation so that my clients can get an idea if they want to have me as their therapist. I would be very obliged to be a part of your journey in understanding yourself better. If for some reason we do not match, then I would be happy to refer another service/therapist.
