She/Her
About me:
As someone who is a white-passing immigrant and refugee, having lived in multiple countries, I’ve personally experienced the challenges of navigating identity, belonging, and the ways that societal systems shape our lives. I also recognize the privileges that come with my own identity, and I approach this work with a deep sense of humility and understanding. My own journey of discovering and honoring who I have shaped my commitment to helping others explore their unique stories and experiences. I believe in creating a safe and compassionate space where we can work together to uncover your strengths, find a sense of belonging, and navigate the complexities of identity in a world that can feel overwhelming at times.
When I’m not seeing clients in my private practice, I work in community mental health, helping people navigate mental health challenges and access resources they need. I’m passionate about advocating for my clients and ensuring they have the support they deserve. Outside of work, I’m a mom to a toddler, which has been a journey of learning and growth for me. Parenting pushes me to find new ways to nurture healing and childhood development, while also working through my own experiences of pain and growth. It’s a constant reminder of how powerful and transformative the process of healing can be.
If you’re feeling stuck due to past or recent relational trauma, you’re not alone. These experiences can make it difficult to lead a fulfilling life, often leading to negative self-talk and mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. Balancing family and cultural expectations while staying true to yourself can feel overwhelming, and it’s common to wrestle with feelings of guilt, shame, grief, and anger. These emotions can create conflicts in relationships and lead to patterns that don’t align with your core values.
I understand that navigating life transitions, managing intense emotions, and coping with stress can feel like significant hurdles. My approach is warm, empathetic, and rooted in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive framework. I’m here to support you in exploring the challenges you face and help you uncover pathways to healing and growth. Together, we’ll work to increase your awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and relational patterns that may be impacting your life.
We may be a good match if you are:
- In your 20s to 50s
- Navigating significant life transitions, such as entering parenthood
- Working to break patterns of intergenerational trauma
- Struggling with attachment and emotion regulation issues from relationships with caregivers, parents, romantic partners, or others
- Balancing cultural expectations from the Diaspora with the process of evolving self-identity
My Approach:
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can explore and work through the complexities of your experiences. Drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities:
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Narrative & Relational Therapy (attachment focused)
- Somatic Approaches (grounding & self-regulating of the nervous system)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I will work with you to identify and address the patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll create tools and coping strategies to help you regulate your emotions and body, specifically designed to meet your unique needs and goals.
Therapy is a courageous step, and you don’t have to face the challenges of emotional healing alone. Whether you’re seeking to process past wounds, navigate a life transition, or break free from old relational patterns, I’m here to help.
