Hi there! My name is Tamara and I am a registered social worker (RSW) seeing clients at the Healing Collective. I offer psychotherapy for adults who are looking to make changes in their life and seeking support. I offer a collaborative and warm space for clients to work through difficult issues and find new coping strategies. I am passionate about helping people struggling with a variety of concerns including: anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship and parenting issues, chronic stress, and working through difficult emotions, such as shame.
I completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Waterloo and a master’s of social work from the University of Toronto. I have additional training in dialectical behaviour therapy and emotion focused therapy. My approach varies depending on the client, and can range from insight building (exploring emotions, processing life experiences) to action oriented (problem solving, developing coping strategies and life skills). I am passionate about helping clients develop practical skills for bringing more balance and fulfilment into their lives.
Outside of The Healing Collective, I do counselling work with postsecondary students at OCAD University. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my adorable pets (a Shetland sheepdog and a bearded dragon) and exploring Toronto (especially finding delicious desserts).
I am at the Collective on Thursdays from 5-9 PM or by appointment. If you would like to book a free phone consultation to see if we are a good fit, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to meeting you!
