She/Her
Yes, I’m currently accepting new clients.
Welcome!
Sometimes a safe connection can make all the difference. Perhaps you’re navigating loss, anxiety, or a major life transition. Maybe you’re losing touch with what is most important to you. Or perhaps moving forward feels really hard, because you’re stuck. I’m here to help.
My areas of focus
I work with adults, aged 18 to 100, who want support with:
• Anxiety, panic and/or depression
• Grief, loss, and caregiver stress
• Feeling stuck
• Living with a mental health diagnosis, or supporting a loved one who is
• Major life transitions (health changes, retirement, medical/stress leave, mid or later-life shifts)
My counselling philosophy
I don’t believe people are broken or need to be fixed.
My role is to help you reconnect with what matters most, and move towards that with clarity and compassion. Together, we focus on loosening the places where you can get stuck, so you can move in the direction you choose. I believe in keeping you in the driver’s seat.
My approach is:
• Respectful, trauma-informed and person-centred
• Grounded in equity, inclusion, and social justice
• Mindful of the power imbalances that shape our lives
My counselling style blends practical coping tools with therapeutic interventions. I draw from various modalities such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), in order to explore the way our feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations and larger contexts intertwine with our struggles.
My experience/About me
I’m a Registered Social Worker with over 35 years of counselling experience in Mental Health. I have worked in the community, in a hospital setting and in private practice. My practice is shaped by both professional and lived experience, including my own anxiety/panic, grief, bi-racial family life, empty-nesting, family cancer, late-life learning, and supporting family mental health. In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I also volunteer with a local in-home Hospice organization, providing companionship and support to people in their end-of-life choices.
In my spare time, you might find me hiking the Bruce Trail, tucking my nose into a good book, learning a new craft or enjoying tea-time on the Danforth!
