(She/Her Pronouns)
I’ve been a Counsellor since 2012. I earned my bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Ryerson University. My specialties include working with women, grief and loss, general wellness, and living with a disability.
I bring an anti-oppressive lens to my work, connecting our individual experiences to the broader society. How are we effected by the white noise of society? How have our thoughts and emotions been shaped by other’s expectations of ourselves? I also use elements of mindfulness, narrative therapy, CBT and a strengths based approach.
The counselling process can feel mysterious at times. I describe my style as gentle, supportive listening. You will feel heard, held and supported in a non-judgmental space. Laughter can happen just as often as crying in a session. If you feel stuck, you will feel unstuck, if you feel stressed, you will feel less stress.
I know the power of counselling, having used social work services at different times in my life. I have a genetic eye disease and use a white cane to get around. Some people see blindness as a tragedy, yet it hasn’t stopped me from making my world famous eggplant lasagna or completing a half marathon. I also love to dance, read fiction and spend time snuggling with my cat.
I am available at the Healing Collective on Thursdays during the day and evening. This is your healing journey, and I am here to help you, one step at a time.
