About Me
I am a creative person, and art influences my professional work. I have completed my bachelor and master of social work from Ryerson University, and I am registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have over 15 years’ experience providing counselling services to individuals and families in a variety of settings. I feel privileged that people have allowed me to witness their lives in the midst of suffering and transformation; it’s a daily reminder of the courage which lives within all of us.
Approaches
I use various counselling approaches, depending on the person’s needs. I am trained in the following modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy; mindfulness, narrative therapy; solution-focused; harm reduction; and anti-oppressive practices. My style is collaborate and creative, bringing the whole person (body, mind, and spirit) at the centre of any modality.
I specialize in:
- Workplace Stress
- Stress Management
- Shame and Guilt
- Feeling Stuck
- Anger Management
- Depression and Anxiety
- Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome
- Trauma
- Anti-Racism & AOP
- Trans Health Assessments
- Ontario Disability Support Program Applications
Availability
I am available at the Healing Collective: Saturday 10am-5pm.
I offer free 20 minute phone consultations. I charge $130 per 50 minute session, and I also do a sliding scale for clients who may not have insurance and cannot afford full fee therapy.
